FROM DIGITAL FRUSTRATION TO DIGITAL PLEASURE

This is how technology serves us – and not the other way around. How companies can remain competitive in the digital age.

That’s what the lecture is about:

What is it all about? Digital technology should actually make our lives easier. In many cases, however, it’s the other way around. Technology makes life unnecessarily complicated and more often controls us than the other way around. Constant accessibility makes us less productive and creates stress. In addition, most people use technology as if they were driving a 911 Porsche at 60 km/h in first gear on the hard shoulder. This talk is about how we can use technology to make us more productive and our lives easier.

The key messages:

  • Switch on your brain first, then the technology, i.e. you don’t have to do everything that is technically possible, but only the things that really make sense.
  • Use existing technology – it’s easier than you think.
  • Try out new technology and use more of what works

For which events is the lecture suitable?

  • For events on the topic of digitization, also for a wider audience.
  • For customer events, e.g. older customers who need to be introduced to your technology.
  • For internal sales kick-offs when introducing new technologies in sales.

What is special about the lecture?

  • Very tangible best practice examples from various industries.
  • Live demos of innovative technologies such as chat bots or customer-specific systems.
  • Thorsten Jekel has a gift for explaining and demonstrating complicated technology in a very simple and clear way, leaving the audience wanting more.

METAVERSE

What is the idea behind the Metaverse and what can you do today to really benefit from it tomorrow?

What is the lecture about?

  • What is the metaverse?
  • What options will there be in the future?
  • What can you already implement today?

The key messages

  • The Metaverse is a vision of an Internet in which we are not spectators but part of the Internet.
  • The Metaverse enables completely new forms of learning and collaboration – prepare for them today.
  • There are already many elements, such as virtual and augmented reality, that you can use today.

For which events is the lecture particularly suitable?

  • Association meetings
  • Congresses
  • Customer events

What is special about the lecture

  • You don’t get marketing-speak, but sound practical knowledge
  • You will receive relevant and inspiring use cases from different industries
  • You will take away hands-on tools that you can start implementing today.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE OR COMMON SENSE?

Preferably both!

What is the lecture about?

  • What is AI?
  • What possibilities are there with AI today and in the future?
  • What can you already implement with AI today?

The key messages

  • AI will not replace people, but people who use AI will have a clear advantage.
  • With AI, you can automate many repetitive tasks and hyper-personalize customer communication, to name just two of the biggest value-added levers.
  • There are already many tools that you can use in PRaxis and you will learn about the latest ones in this presentation.

For which events is the lecture particularly suitable?

  • Association meetings
  • Congresses
  • Customer events

What is special about the lecture

  • You don’t get marketing-speak, but sound practical knowledge
  • You get the link between AI and concrete application scenarios in your company.
  • You will take away hands-on tools that you can start implementing today.

COLLABORATE LIKE COKE

How Coca-Cola went from silo thinker to learning organization!

That’s what the lecture is about:

The introduction of the deposit on cans in 2003 meant that the German Coca-Cola organization lost over 30% of its turnover overnight. The successful organization had not prepared for this at all, although the legal situation was known. Initially, Coca-Cola fell into a state of shock. Once this was overcome, Coca-Cola gradually got back on the road to success by first working on its structure, then on its culture and finally on digitalization.

The key messages:

  • We cannot influence all external developments, but we should react flexibly to them.
  • Switch on the brain first, then the technology, i.e. structure and culture are always more important than technology.
  • Simply use technology to become faster and more flexible once the foundation has been laid.

For which events is the lecture suitable?

  • Conferences on the topic of digital transformation.
  • Events for sales managers.
  • Internal management examinations.

What is special about the lecture?

  • An insider’s look behind the scenes at Coca-Cola.
  • Over 30 years of operational implementation experience.
  • Holistic view of the areas of digitalization, leadership and implementation.

DIGITAL LEADERSHIP

How do you lead your team effectively through the digital transformation?

That’s what the lecture is about:

Key message: The success factor in digital change is not technology, but leadership.

Main messages:

  • The digital natives are no more the saviors than the more experienced employees are the brakemen. Both learn from each other with respect.
  • You don’t have to do everything digitally just because it works. First switch on your brain, then the technology.
  • Digitalization is not a panacea, but merely an acceleration of what has always distinguished managers: Leading teams through changing times with clarity, humanity and by example.

BE DIGITAL OR DIE

Why relevance is more important than digitalization.

That’s what the lecture is about:

Key message: Customers become fans when we solve relevant problems for them. It (almost) doesn’t matter whether we do this digitally or in analog form.

Main messages:

  • Switch on your brain first, then the technology – you don’t have to digitize everything just because it works!
  • What are the success factors of offline business models in different sectors?
  • How do you use the possibilities of digitalization intelligently and how do you take your employee(s) with you?

What is special about the lecture?

  • You will receive best-ofs from the analog and digital world, with many examples of successful companies.
  • You benefit from Thorsten Jekel’s more than 30 years of operational and management experience.
  • Thorsten Jekel is a speaker who knows many industries very well through his consulting and lecturing activities.

THE DIGITIZATION TRAP

Why most companies burn money with IT and how IT really makes you successful.

That’s what the lecture is about:

After personnel costs, IT is the number two cost factor. However, IT often only increases costs and complexity. The good news is that most of the causes are home-made and can be eliminated.

The key messages:

  • Think first about what you want to achieve with the technology before you simply buy any new technology.
  • Consider the total costs of ownership, i.e. the real total costs of IT systems, including training and support costs.
  • Build crash barriers to the right and left of the road and not across the carriageway.

For which events is the lecture suitable?

  • System houses, customers, resellers… to offer more than just hardware and software, but also knowledge and experience in the field of implementation.
  • IT conferences that aim to provide an impetus for implementation at the end.
  • Conferences for managers who have IT or overall responsibility and want to become more productive with IT.

What is special about the lecture?

  • Over 30 years of experience up to management level in medium-sized companies.
  • A unique blend of IT and management. This brings the often separate worlds back together so that IT no longer burns money but earns it.
